Welcome to Room 2 at Fuerte Elementary!!
My name is Candice Lewis and I am so proud to be your child's teacher for the 2009-2010 school year. This class is classified as an Autism Cluster class and has many exceptional students and staff members. A little bit about myself -- I received my BA in Liberal Studies at SDSU and then continued in my Special Education Credential. I am currently working towards my Masters in Autism. I have a beautiful baby girl "Haley" who was born on July 30, 2009. My husband is also a teacher in the CVUSD at Madison Elementary. I also have an adorable Chihuahua named Monte.
I always have a lot of fun in room 2 -- the children learn without realizing it because my goal for them is to "love" school because if they don't come they will not learn. I also have very high expectations and push the children to reach their highest in academics and emotional growth.
I love working with the kids and parents and feel the stronger the team -- the more growth we will see :).
We are very lucky to have 2 highly trained SECAs in our class; Terri Hoffman (6 hour) and Jeanie (5.5 hour). Here is a little bit about them.
