 Welcome

We are pleased to take this opportunity to meet and welcome your child to our class.  A successful learning experience is built on a cooperative effort between parent, child, and teacher.  Our expectations for conduct and standards for academic growth are high.  With your participation, we can look forward to a productive, creative, and fun year together!

We’d like to share some information with you that will explain our instructional program and philosophy of teaching.  First, we would like to acquaint you with the team teaching concept.  With the combined effort and energy of two teachers, we feel that we are able to offer a highly effective program from which students benefit.  The children adjust very easily to a team of teachers and enjoy the advantages of having two instructors with similar standards, twice the experience, and twice the fun!  Mrs. Audette will teach on Mondays and Mrs. Tubbs will teach on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Our curriculum and classroom environment is carefully planned and organized as a team.

We believe that children deserve respect and should never be humiliated.  We believe a child’s self-esteem should be nurtured tenderly.  We have high expectations for all of our students academically, as well as behaviorally.  All students are expected to treat each other as they would like to be treated, work cooperatively, and be neat and organized. We place a great deal of emphasis on students choosing their attitude and actions. What this means is students need to be aware of their behavior and choose to handle challenges in an appropriate way. In order for our classroom to operate smoothly, certain things must occur. Our classroom rules have been developed to facilitate learning.  They are: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.  We want your child to enjoy the learning process and we want to help them develop their own motivation for learning.  We hope to do our best to encourage your child to succeed in his/her attempts to learn.  We believe modeling is the most powerful way to affect a child’s learning.  Please model the love of learning at home by reading with your child.
