Separate of your school folder. - Practice log (30 min. day Average) - Most current Calendar. Will pass out monthly. You can print off our web page as well. - Up to Date Account Ledger. - Orderly music with pencil markings as requested by Mr. Caldwell or Mr. Reed Tests and Basic Skills Exams....................................................................................... 20% - Students will be tested on basic skills and techniques. - We will be using “Smart Music” software as an evaluation tool. I highly recommend to purchase your very own at WWW.smartmusic.com the codeword for a $75 discount is hillsdalemusicdept. - Concert attendance is the Final Exam (mark dates from calendar) Practice Log................................................................................................................. 20% This is a tool for your parents to help focus student practicing - Students will need to log daily practice sessions on the "Practice Log" - Must be signed by parent for credit. - Holidays and vacations may be excused. - Private lessons on instrument can count as double time - Ensemble practice out of school hours can be counted as half-time. CITIZENSHIP GRADE (also has up to 40% of above Scholarship) Each student will need to earn an "A" in citizenship on a daily basis.1. Come to class every day with all proper materials-Complete Binder, Pencil, and Instrument. 2. Be in seat ready to rehearse within three minutes of the tardy bell. 3. Remain in seat during duration of class. 4. Respect the rights of others. 5. Work cooperatively with peers. (i.e. working in groups and ensemble) 6. Put away music and place instrument in the proper location. 7. Clean area before departing room. (Extra and make up credit will be given to students who go out of their way to help others.)
