Academic Expectations/Policies

Hillsdale Homework Policy

1. Hillsdale's homework policy will be enforced by all sixth grade teachers.
2. Assignments must be completed and turned in on the due date. Unless otherwise stated, homework is due on the following day.
3. Late work will not be accepted.
4. Students will earn a zero and lunch detention if homework is missing. Students will work on incomplete work during detention.

Textbooks

Two textbooks will be issued to students (Math and English). A paperback workbook with summaries of the Science book chapters will also be sent home to use as reference book for Science. Copies of the Math and Science books are also available for download to a personal flashdrive. Students are responsible for these books until the end of the year. If your family would like an extra book, please send a note to the teacher with your request and we would be happy to accommodate you.

Planner

The student planner is a required school supply. It is an excellent organizational tool for students and it also provides an opportunity for parents and teachers to communicate about school. All boxes in students planner should be filled in daily even if NO HOMEWORK is assigned.
